Humpty Dumpty had a great fall!

Yes, this post is about a great fall that Qi Yu had recently! It is mummy fault for being careless. Last Saturday, someone came and repair the curtain rail in the living room area where Qi Yu would normally have her nap. So that afternoon, we let her sleep in the guess room's bed. She can crawl now so we are quite weary about putting her on bed if no one is around. Hubby told me to check on her periodically and to listen carefully to any sound that Qi Yu may make when she wakes up. He was the one checking onnher while I was having lunch with Qi Ning. He told me to do that after lunch. I say ok but didn't do it immediately, a few minute later, I hear a "bom" then a loud cry. Rush upstair and saw Qi Yu on the floor. Pick her up and the poor baby sobbing away in her sleepy stage. Bad mummy for not taking the necessary step to ensure baby's safety. Thank God that there is no major injury. Sorry baby for causing you to fall!

33 months

When I look at Qi Ning, I am so amaze by the way she has grown. She is 33 months old today. I have lost track of her development but I just notice that she is growing by the day. She can hold a decent conversation with people now and she will ask you for the meaning of words if she doesn't understand it. Before we starts her with the Sunday School, she speak mainly in English but now, she can speak Mandarin pretty well. And she loves to look for Malay children and practice her Malay with them. She still is very freindly to other children but no longer hug them by suprise.
Like Mummy, Qi Ning loves to eat. Everything is tasty to her and she is not very picky eater. Her favourite is lolli pop/sweets. Every evening when I reached home after addressing me, her first request is "mummy, I want lolli pop! " :) She weigh 15kg now, height I didn't measure I think is about 94cm.
She likes to imitake what we do. She saw us eating noddles with chopstick and wanted to do the same. We let her tried and now she is an expert, she can eat a bowl of noddles with chopstick without help from us. Nowadays, she refuse to use the kiddie fork, she want chopstick!
She could recognise some alphabet and numeral. Mummy bought the "Spell to Write and Read" core materail, wanting to teach her but not yet had the time.
Ever since she tasted the glama of dancing on the stage, she often mentions that she want to dance on stage. She can sing many songs, I lost count of the songs oledi. Songs in Manadarin, English and Malay.
She is very much into pretend play nowaday, one minute she would the pregnant lady, next minute she would be the Doctor and then she would be the pilot. She is also into the building business, she will be bulding house using pillows, bolster and blanket! She would also change her identity, sometime she is a Malay, sometime would be an Indian.
She is quite mature for her age, understanding and generally well behaved. Sometime with her maturity, we forget that she is not even three yet. I am pleased with her overall development. I pray that she would grow into a balance adult, in favor of God and man.

"I am 欣柔 (XinRou)"

In the past, there are occasion when Qi Ning would say that her name is Xin Rou (Xin Rou is my brother's youngest daughter). And she would follow my nieces and nephews calling us "姑姑` 姑 丈 instaed of mummy and papa. But lately, she has been saying that she is Xin Rou all the time. When I call her Qi Ning, she would tell me "no, I am Xin Rou!" She is really into this pretend game. I usually just play along with her. Hubby was saying I shouldn't encourage it. I take it as part of her growing up phase where she pretend to be somebody else which is quite harmless but he think otherwise!

Blackout adventure

Two days ago, my area had a major blackout. The moment I reached home from work, hubby had the kids all ready just waiting for me so that we can go out for dinner. I was told that the eletricity was out since 5.00pm. We thought it might not be too long before the electricity would be back but we were very wrong!
We had dinner near by where there was current. After dinner we went home and still there is no electricity. So we decide we would bring the kids to shopping centre. We went to Jaya Jusco at Equine park. We walk around and have ice-kacang at the food court. We leave there at about 8 plus thinking that the current should be back by now. When we were near to home, we saw neighbouring flat have light so we thought it would be the same for our area but alas, when we reach our area still no electricity. So we had car ride around he neighbourhood and Qi Ning ask" Why we go round and round like a merry-go-round?" :) We round for 15 mins then decide we would head off to Tesco instaed of rounding in the neighbourhood. Then hubby decide that we should go look at our new church building instaed. So off we went again for our venture.
By then, I was quite tire and thirsty, so we stop at a mamak place for a drink. Oh, the coconut juice was wonderful and Qi Ning had her favourite roti tissue. By the time we had our supper and go home, still no elctricity. Went round the neighborhood again then off to Tesco. We were at Tesco till 10.30pm, we were all tired so decided to go home irregardless whether if there is elcetricity or not.
Hurray, when we reached home, we saw the light! By the time I showered and get kids ready for bed, it is well pass eleven. I thought they would be very tired and would doze off immediately but I guess they were over excited and didn't settle down after quite a while.
For the whole period of the blackout, I was so worried that all my milk stock will be melted. I counted the blackout lasted about 6 hours. I was so relieves when I checked on my milk stoke and found that they were not melted. Really thankful for it. Or else, seeing all the epressed breast milk thawing, I would cry!

7 Months

I dunno know where my time has gone for the past 7 months but I definitely see my baby growing by the day. Yap, my Qi yu is 7 months old now.
Her vital statistic didn't change much, her weight as of yesterday is 7.5kg and length is 68cm. For the past four month, she only put on 500g as she don't drink much for the time that I am at work. I am not very worry now with her slow weight gain because she is meeting her developmental milestone.
She has got a pearly white on her lower jaw. Still only only. Started her on solid last month. So now, every morning, when we are having our breakfast, Qi Yu is joining in. I will give her half of the egg york mixed with breast milk. She seem to like it. Afternoon, she either have prorridge (only with carrot or pumpkin) blended till smooth. She only have one to two spoonful of it. Fruits are also introduce to her diet oledi. She loves fruit and when we said "finished" and walk away she will be crying! So far, we have let her eat apple, mango, papaya and banana. Yesterday, mummy let her have a taste of durian, she seem to like it as well! Milk intake wise she still don't drink very much, ranging from 80ml -160ml for the duration that I am away.
She haven't sleep thru the night yet as she is still on reverse nursing. So at night mummy still need to nurse her.
She can sit unsupported now, quite stable oledi. She is starting to crawl from one end of the bed to the other end. I dare not let her crawl on the floor yet for fear she may hit her head on the floor. When I put a toy in front of her, she will crawl to reach for it.
OverallQi Yu is a cheerful baby. She is also becoming a sticky tape, sticking closely to mummy liao!
